It was very interesting as I struggled with many things. First, trying to pay attention to what my new boss was saying, rather than trying to concentrate on just how and why he seemed so familiar to me. This ever happen to you?
Try as I might to concentrate on what he was saying, my mind kept wandering to how I made the connection with him and the Moron. Was he displaying subtle hints of abuse? Was my super-strength Moron detector, sniffing out some Moroness??
Trying to wrap my head around what exactly was causing the familiarity to the Moron. Yes, there was a bit of the physical resemblance, tall, skinny, balding (Friar Tuck style), but was that all there was?

I guess time will tell, why exactly my Spidey senses are tingling when my new Boss is around. For once though, I will trust my instincts and go into full alert mode. Someone has to earn my trust, now.
So, am I the only one that this has happened to? Has anyone else had this familiarity to one of their Morons?

Yes! I actually dated this guy before I met T, and he reminded me so much of my moron. I felt drawn to him b/c he was so damn charming but then he got all weird on me, and it hit me just exactly why I was drawn to him. Because he reminded me so much of my ex. Kind of scary how we get drawn to that same type of person without even knowing it. Needless to say, I ended it pretty quickly...
The very first post divorce dating experience I had was, looking back now, with my moron's clone. Same age, same horoscope sign, same anti-depressant meds... LOL Alaina is right, totally scary to see how we are drawn to the same type over and over. It takes knowledge and self-realization to acknowledge what's going on and STOP IT. Since then I have met plenty of others who remind me of him, and all I can think is 'thank goodness he is someone else's problem'.
I am reminded of the moron I DIDNT marry everyday - we have a nine year old. Sometimes she makes faces like him.......and I wanna just.....ugggggg!!!!!
I haven't had that kind of experience exactly. When my intuitive antenna start picking something up, it sometimes makes me think of someone that I don't want to be around. Even if I have no association, I know that I can trust that quivering. I know I need to hold back and be careful & alert. Very alert. I would say trust your instincts. Good luck.
Thanks Paula, I think that is what I will do. Good thing is that he is generally at the head office, so I rarely see him.
I know that feeling!!!! The lil Pixie has moments like that too...then I have to calm down and think that she is her own person, and that hopefully I will provide her with a foundation strong enough to be Moron-free!! Those darn genetics, though!!!
Ha!!! I think the same way with the Moron's current girlfriend, and I actually feel sorry for her! But you are right about the pattern, until you make a deliberate and conscious change.
I bet looking back you are so glad that you were able to see :) Kudos to you, that means you have learned and applied that knowledge to your life, and rewarded with the likes of T :)
mine is 5. there is certainly some physical resemblance, but well.. but during my first talk with the prepschool teacher, I sat there and thought 'hm.. hearing it like this, and without my rosy mummy glasses on, really sounds like someone has inherited a bit of a'hole gene..?' (you'd say 'moron gene' obviously) but we are prepared for it and can help those energies go in a different direction. haha CONTROL!
as much as many women go from one abuser to the next, i believe that once you have truly seen 'the light' (or whatever)all that stuff you were always pushing back in your mind because you just weren't ready, are now grown into one big moron detector tool. i've had girlfriends going through their own experiences, and while you can't, you know, really say 'i told you so' , I am glad to know that my instincts are now finetuned and usually right.
sometimes you don't even have to meet the moron to know something is wrong, but just the way a woman talks and behaves makes your inner alarm light go on.
i have 'caught' me a car pool passenger with a pregnant lady from day one and while HE is all smiles, i can tell there is something not right in the family.
problem is,there isn't much you can do, especially with strangers..
on a sidenote, I am glad Charlie Sheen is a bit out of the news now.
He sounded exactly like my narcissist ex, raging with colourful expressions and completely delusive. I'm not even exaggerating.
That whole nature vs nurture debate... too bad we couldn't pluck that moron gene outta there! Good for you for seeing what is there. I think that is half the battle. Perhaps if the Moron's parents hadda seen it.... who am I kidding, she's a bigger Moron than my ex!!!!!
It's funny how you can fit people into little categories so quickly... tendencies to become a Moron, tendencies to be with a Moron, FULL-ON Moron, nothing like a Moron. I think you are right, our rose coloured glasses are off!!!!
